BayWay™ was founded by KJ, a Bay Area native, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Community Advocate, Master Automotive Technician, and Professional Speaker. What started as a vision to represent the culture and lifestyle of the Bay has grown into a brand built around identity, connection, and the people who call the Bay home.

BayWay™ was created to represent the culture, community, automotive lifestyle, and spirit of the San Francisco Bay Area—from the perspective of someone who has lived it.

 

BayWay started with a simple idea: take what I know, what I've experienced, and the people I've met along the way—and turn it into something useful.

ABOUT KJ

Jorge “KJ” Hernandez is the founder of BayWay™ and a lifelong Bay Area native.

 

His path has taken him through the U.S. Marine Corps, the automotive industry, higher education, family, community, and personal challenges that required him to rebuild and keep moving forward.

 

KJ holds an Associate Degree in Communication Studies and has more than 20 years of hands-on automotive experience. He is an ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician, an ASE Advanced Level Engine Performance Specialist, and a California Smog Repair Licensed Technician with extensive experience in automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, engine performance, and emissions-related repairs.

 

But the résumé doesn't tell the whole story.

 

Experience does.

 

KJ has learned through work, education, relationships, service, family, setbacks, recovery, and real-life experience that knowledge only matters when you can put it to work and help somebody move forward.

 

That's the foundation of BayWay.
